You’re in the right place if you are feeling like you are on a special education island.
In my first 4 years of teaching, I felt so alone. The lack of curriculum, administration support and daily tasks really had me worn down. I turned to social media and found inspiration to continue to grow and learn as an educator.
My passion is supporting other educators is what has led me to start a website and blog alongside of my Boom Learning store and TeachersPayTeachers store!
I have been a special education teacher in Illinois for the past 8 years! I’ve taught in self-contained classroom settings for middle school and high school students. I currently am a Special Education Curriculum and Assessment Administrator at a private Autism school.
For certifications, I have my Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education and a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a specialization in Teacher Leadership. With this focus, I want to be able to support other educators to not feel like they’re on special education island.
I have such a passion for helping my students gain independence and work on life skills that they can use outside the classroom!

Before I go, I mentioned that I love supporting teachers in the classroom. I never had a mentor my first years of teaching and I really struggled! This is why I created a mentorship program for other self-contained teachers so you don’t have to make the same mistakes I did! You can join the mentorship HERE!
